Gate Guard
The membership of the pool is managed by the Gate Guards on duty. They are responsible for verifying the membership status and signing in eligible guests to the pool. Young members who have completed Grade 6 and show a level of maturity are encouraged to join the Gate Guard program. They receive a small stipend for their time and have the opportunity to develop skills and responsibilities. Amongst the experienced Gate Guards, there is also the opportunity to apply for the position of Head Gate Guard. In addition to regular Gate Guard duties, the Head Gate Guard works with the responsible committee member to assist and run the programme. There is a bonus fee paid to the Head Gate Guard. More information and an application form is available on the “jobs” section of our website. Interested members should plan to attend the first meeting scheduled June 28th. Guppies
The Guppies program is for youngsters 6 and under and aims to develop swimming and proper stroke by combining games and activities. A 30 minute sessions of fun and games in the park will be followed by a 30 minute "practice" in the water where each child will improve their swimming through play. Over the course of the summer, there will likely be at least one guppies "swim meet". Details of these meets will be announced as soon as they are made available. The guppies program is a super introduction to the swim team and always a lot of fun.

Leaders
Teens and kids age 12 and up meet and participate in the life of the pool with the Leaders programme. They are encouraged to help out with swimming lessons, babysit during aqua fitness and in the canteen. They organize hotdog lunches and pancake breakfast every week to raise money for a year-end activity. The programme is designed to encourage young adolescents to take part in pool activities. Leaders will learn responsibility by helping lifeguards perform simple tasks around the pool and by helping organize events and fundraisers. It is not all work; Leaders may have weekly outings such as movies, mini putt, bowling and dances. The leaders also have an end-of-season outing. As you can see this program is full of non-stop action where friends can be made and memories are built, we look forward to having a great summer.
